Next Big Thing for Small Gardens

We all love roses here at GMG, especially ones that are low-maintenance, easy to care for and look great throughout the season. This spring we'll be planting some of the new Drift Roses from The Conard-Pyle Co., introducer of the famous Knock Out family of roses, in our new test garden.

A cross between full-size groundcover roses and miniatures, Drift Roses offer delicate, double flowers and continuous blooming throughout the season. With exceptional disease resistance and winter hardiness, these low-maintenance beauties are the perfect choice for small gardens or along paths and walkways. Plus they combine wonderfully with perennials intermixed with other upright shrubs like coreopsis, veronicas or lambs ear and even hostas. Try the new Apricot Drift and Sweet Drift roses for non-stop color from spring until fall!

And don't forget to check out Conard-Pyle's full line of Star Roses, Star Plants and Knock Out Roses at www.conard-pyle.com.

Happy Planting,

Stacey

Conard-Pyle moves to new headquarters

Sarah Moran reports in today's Daily Local News that "For the first time in 112 years, the Conard-Pyle Co.'s headquarters and most of its greenhouses are all in one place.

That's because, in October 2008, the company moved its containerized cuttings to a 3.25-acre state-of-the-art greenhouse that, as one approaches it, looks like a giant white and silver folded accordion.

The company moved its headquarters to the new facility in March, and Steve Hutton, its 58-year-old president, couldn't be happier with the new location atop the verdant hills of southwestern Chester County." Read more.

Star Charity Plant Sale! May 23-6:00 a.m.

Conard-Pyle 23rd Annual Plant Sale: Open to the Public — below Wholesale Prices! Annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and most important - thousands of Star Roses all at less-than-wholesale prices!

This year's one-of-a-kind, phenomenally popular and now legendary charity plant sale is on Saturday, May 23rd at 6:00 a.m.

Because all of the plants are donated, nearly 100% of the proceeds go to benefit Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance and local community non-profits.

After a good nights sleep - wake up, bring a buddy (or two), and a wagon, wear a hat, fuel up and come ready for the gates to open at 6:00 a.m. When the sale starts, everyone goes running and scrambling to get their hands on their favorite plants. We suggest that you bring a couple of helpers with you if possible so that you can have help with finding plants and watching over those that you selected.

New Location: At the Conard-Pyle Star Pavilion, Route 796, in Jennersville, PA across from Mr. Mulch (1/3 mile north of former location).

You can't miss us - arrive early to avoid traffic. If you have questions, please call us: 610-869-2426 or click here.
