Shorter days and longer nights just beg for more light, and here's an idea that will brighten up your nights and days even if it's not raining!  The Lumi is a one of a kind umbrella that is equipped with user controllable red, green and blue LED lights that can be switched on and off with a push of a button.

This limited edition umbrella is designed in collaboration with Pilobolus, the world renowned dance company inspired by their live show, Up: The Umbrella Project and MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Backing is being sought on Dragon Innovation where you can go and get a handle on this super cool umbrella.  Light up and stay dry at sporting events, parties, or a nighttime stroll. Hang the umbrella upside down for ambient lighting at your outside fire pit gathering.  Equip your Lumi with 2 double A batteries and get several hours of continuous interchangeable light.

If you have an affinity toward your own unique umbrella, no problem.  A Lumi attachment can be purchased that will convert your umbrella if the shaft has a diameter of at least 5/16 of an inch.

Lumi was designed to be used by groups or individuals.  Check out the video below and learn more about the inspiration and inner workings of the Lumi. . Would this be a product you'd purchase for yourself or as a gift?  We'd love to hear your thoughts on this bright idea.
