From attracting birds & butterflies and reducing the size of your lawn to even a step-by-step guide to building your own butterfly garden, I thought it couldn't get any better than this. Everything I would need to know about all these topics in one spot.
Then I saw the shout out to American Beauties Native Plants! I was even more thrilled to see that the direct link landed me at the American Beauties butterfly garden plan page. This page helps you find the best native plants for your weather conditions to create the most amazing living garden...literally!

Very cool! I have been reading a little bit about living gardens and have become quite interested in them! Thanks for including the links to those (apparently) helpful sites! I will check those out now.
I'll be sure to let you know how it goes for me. You do the same! :)
I love my butterfly garden and post photos on my blog. My friends own a native plant nursery and I get many host plants from them to attract the butterflies as well as the caterpillars.
Sounds like a wonderful idea. It would be great to have a butterfly sanctuary in the comfort of your garden. Iowa and San Francisco have a beautiful butterfly garden.
