Adrian Higgins talks about sustainable gardens

I love to read Adrian Higgins stories. They are always so thoughtful, interesting -- and full of his extra dry humor. This piece on green gardening is no exception. He starts out by poking fun at himself. And then all of us. He talks in his recent article about The Sustainable Sites Initiative (http://www.sustainablesites.org/) and what it seeks to achieve for landscapes -- residential, commercial, institutional. and what the U.S. Green Building Council has accomplished in the design and construction of ecologically friendly buildings. Since 2000 the council has certified 2,122 buildings, and 17,450 more are in the pipeline. See his full story http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/04/AR2009020401255.html
