CNBC Reports: A Renaissance in Vegetable Gardening

When CNBC reporter Diana Olick decided to report on the impact that the boomer generation was having on the gardening industry, she insisted on an interview with George Ball, president of the nation's largest retail seed company, W. Atlee Burpee & Co.

Last Friday, Ball’s perspective on boomers in gardening made national news as he talked to CNBC during a nationally syndicated news segment. The show, which highlighted the powerful impact the boomer generation is having on the green industry, aired at least twice on Friday during the one and four o’clock hours eastern standard time.

Ball’s segment was part of Diana Olick’s on-going report on the affect that the boomer generation is having on various niche markets. For more information on Ball’s insight into the gardening renaissance brought on by the boomer generation, please view Adrian Higgin’s August 3rd column: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/02/AR2006080200525.html.
