Seeing Red!

There's just something about the color red. From high fashion cat-walks to a simple red rose, red attracts the eye and excites the senses.
We found a fabulous Japanese Forest Grass that we think you're gonna love.

Hakonechloa 'Beni-Kaze' from Briggs Nursery (http://www.briggsnursery.com/) translates as "red wind" and this ornamental grass is a great choice for shade gardeners looking to add a softly textured, natural "wind-swept" look to their garden landscape. It morphs into a brilliant red color that flows in the wind in the autumn! Wow.

Try planting it in drifts to make a fashion statement of your own or as accents to fill a spot.
It's easy to grow and looks great alone or mass-planted along with hostas, ferns and other shade lovin' perennials. Plus- (here's a great attribute)- it's off-limits to deer, which makes it ideal for a woodland setting, open meadows, and anywhere Bambi and friends come calling.

'Beni-Kaze' reaches 24-36" X 24-36", making this windswept charmer a perfect choice in Zone 5.

Now, if only I could tame my red (ahem) windswept locks! :) -Lynne
