The Philadelphia Flower Show provides tons of inspiration! It seemed as though orchids where everywhere - growing on trees, suspended from tiny wire threads, and planted. There were flowering trees and shrubs everywhere! How do they do it?
Exhibitors force trees, shrubs and perennials into bloom for the flower show, using temperature and lighting controls to “trick” plants into full bloom in time for show.
In just two hours, I had taken 168 photos and shot lots of video -- way to many to pick from for this blog post!
My impression - go for drama with color and bold plants. Michael Petrie’s Handmade Gardens exhibit using bamboo was truly bold! More on that in a later post.
