Well, it's that time of the year when most of us are stuck indoors. Here in PA it's been in the 30's (Brrr) for the past couple of weeks with snow on its way. During this time, I often head to my local nursery or home retailer to pick-up some beautiful blooms to liven up my home.
This year I'm giving orchids a try. People often think they are such a hard plant to grow. I have one on my office window that has been blooming off and on for the past year with little to no work on my part. Trust me!
So, if you think orchids are not for you, check out this in-depth article on growing orchids from Better Homes & Gardens January issue. I know you'll feel confident enough to go and pick-up some indoor beauty for your own home after reading this.
Enjoy,
Stacey

Hello, I have one orchid and so far it's doing good. I never had orchids before, but the one I got was on sale so I gave it a try. yes the flowers are gone, but hope soon new ones will be coming. I also have tips on orchids on my blog. Glad to see someone else from PA.

Hello again, didn't know where else to put this, but I gave you my wrong blog address...it's tony-thegardenguy.com sorry about that. I have two blogs one on gardening and one on making crafts. Sorry for any inconvience. Also love your blog.

Loved your post. I think Orchid is one of the most beautiful flowers on Earth. I live in an apartment, so cant have a garden. But I often have one of those beauties in my vase. And always prefer orchids when I send flowers to someone.
