Heronswood Fall Planting Open

Get ready for the 2nd Heronswood Open, occurring this September 8th and 9th once again on Fordhook Farm in Doylestown, Pa.

In addition to the many plants for sale from Heronswood’s private library, there will be a huge selection of chrysanthemums, pansies, asters and other fall perennials. Also, free guided tours of Fordhook Farm's world famous display and test gardens will take place every hour.

New for this Open are the expanded and renovated forest trails and ponds as well as the cascading spring and monumental sculpture installations by Steve Tobin.

A unique Rare Plants Auction will be held both days at 12:30 p.m., offering bidders an opportunity to obtain uncommon, gathered-in-the-wild plants not available to the general public, as well as not yet released Heronswood-bred hellebores.

This time around, there will be a $5 admission fee upon entrance with a portion being donated to The Garden Conservancy. With admission, everyone will receive a $5 coupon good toward any purchase that day at the event. Lectures will take place on the premises. They will cost $10 in advance/$15 at the door.

There will be complimentary refreshments and grilled food (hot dogs, cheeseburgers, sausages) for sale.

Be sure to check it out if you didn't earlier this summer. And if you were already here earlier in the summer, come back again anyway. You know you want to.
